Our Work
We had the privilege to participate in some mega projects, working with international companies and consultants from varied cultures with different approaches and perspectives. Below are some of the significant tunneling and underground excavation projects we did. Each project has its own story, challenges, and complexity.

2020-2021
Road 16 Tunnels
We designed, managed, and executed The Drill & Blast operation for the construction of the new road leading to Jerusalem - the tunnels were excavated at the proximity of tens of meters to buildings and infrastructure. A complex project with many challenges due to nature, the urban environment, and the schedules.
Excavation Volume: app. 740,000 m³, 5.8 km.
Client: JV Shapir Engineering Ltd - Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A
2019
The 5th Water Line
The 5th water line connects Jerusalem to the national water carrier and includes a 13km waterway tunnel done by TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine). We designed and executed The Drill & Blast operation for two sub-works in this project:
The junction opening between the TBM tunnel and the “Soreq” Adit tunnel; the TBM’s exit shaft at “Ein Kerem.”
Client: Oron infrastructure and construction, Zublin-Jager.

Past
Before establishing his company in 2018, Asaf Kessler led significant and complex civil engineering projects in his last position as the head of the civil department in Tamar Group. Below are some of the major ones.

2016-2017
"Kochav Ha-Yarden" PSP
Asaf designed, managed, and executed The Drill & Blast operation for the underground construction of the Hydro-Electric Pump Storage Plant. He did only the first year of the project.
Excavation Volume: app. 40,000 m³, 1 km.
Client: Sinohydro
2015-2016
Confidential project
Asaf did an underground project for a governmental body. The project included some unique and complex underground features and demanded creative thinking and solutions to achieve its goals.
Since the project is confidential, we can't provide any further details.

2012-2014
"Gilon" Railway Tunnels
Asaf designed, managed, and executed The Drill & Blast operation to construct the twin railway tunnels.
Excavation Volume: app. 740,000 m³, 9.2 km.
Client: JV Denia Cebus Ltd - CCECC (China Civil Engineering Construction).
2011-2013
Jerusalem - Tel Aviv High-Speed Railway Tunnels
Asaf managed and executed The Drill & Blast operation for this project, and made the design only for its second part.
Excavation volume: app. 360,000 m³, 4.5 km.
Client: JV Shapir Engineering Ltd - Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A.

2007-2009
"Carmel" Road Tunnels
Asaf led the Drill & Blast operation to construct Israel's first significant national road tunnel project. The tunnels were excavated tens of meters under the city of Haifa. A complex project with many challenges due to nature and the urban environment. Asaf did the design for an impossible section of the project, where the limitation was as low as a maximum charge of 1.2kg/delay. He managed to advance 3m/cycle on a 120m² face under this limitation in one shot. The excavation of the tunnels was completed one year ahead of schedule.
Excavation Volume: app. 880,000 m³, 9.2 km.
Client: CCECC (China Civil Engineering Construction).
